What we have learned from Kate
When we adopted our daughter, Kate, 5 years ago we started out thinking we wanted a "non special needs" baby girl. At that time, the wait for such a child from China was getting longer and longer, and so we decided we might be open to a toddler with minor special needs. We found Kate on a special needs list and were able to travel to get her about 6 months later. She was 3 years old and she has albinism. Through this we have learned that Special is exactly what she is. She may have some extra "needs", but we cannot imagine not having her in our family. She is such an amazing child that has added so much love, laughter and knowledge to our life. We have learned so much from her and our eyes have been opened (no pun intended) to the world of the visually impaired.

So, I'm stalking your blog!!! Just thought you should know. I'm gathering you did not adopt Kate with AGCI, but you are adopting Charlie with AGCI? What a beautiful family. I had to figure out what your connection to AGCI was :)
