Goal Met!
Today I am overwhelmed with appreciation for those who have stepped in to help us fund this adoption. We set a goal to raise 25% of our adoption costs. Between a special needs adoption grant, our fundraising event and many generous donations, as of today we have met our goal! We are so humbled by the generous gifts given by so many to help us bring Charlie home. It takes A LOT of money to adopt (probably way more than it should), but it takes more than that. It takes love and support from friends and family. I know of several people that are doing this without that and it makes me so sad. We are so grateful for our family's enthusiasm and our friends' excitement. It makes the journey much more fun and the wait a little more tolerable. When we adopted Kate, people followed our journey through our blog and prayed for us, but we did not raise support then. This time, I feel much more connected to our supporters. It makes me feel like we're all a team and in this together. And since we have helped many others bring their children home, I am so excited for our supporters, because I know how it feels to have that connection. When you play a part in getting a child across the world to his forever home and you see that moment when they come together to make a family... man, it's awesome! So, I am so blessed by you and excited for us, but I am also so excited for you guys! God has woven you into this with us, and he writes the BEST stories! So hang on just a little longer. We'll be there soon!
